OUR CONTRIBUTION TO ‘MAURITIUS, A SUSTAINABLE ISLAND’
In order to defend the peaceful live in Flic en Flac, I founded a non governmental organization in May 2007 : l’Association pour le Développement Durable de Flic en Flac (the association for the sustainable development of Flic en Flac). It was incorporated on the 13 February 2008 by the Mauritian Registrar of Associations.
Our association aims at keeping the whole Mauritius and specially Flic en Flac an agreeable place to live in, but seeing also that there is a controlled and sustainable development for the well being of the actual inhabitants and the next generations.
It aims also at a harmonious relationship between the tourists and the Mauritians and between the Mauritians themselves.
It promotes respect for nature, cleanness and beauty in our village, protection of the sea and urgently of the dolphins.
To realize these aims, we work with the children and help the local primary school. We initiated the movement of prevention and cleaning to come over the epidemic of chikungunya.
We fight against the noise and the danger caused by the wild renting.
We protect our security in joining in ‘Neighborhood Watch’. For this action, we organize an annual feast, so that all the inhabitants of the new quarters of the village get to know each other.
