FLIC EN FLAC
A CHARMING SEA SIDE RESORT VILLAGE
The greatest attraction of Flic en Flac is its white sand beach stretching 5 km long, boarding a quiet lagoon. It is pure pleasure to snorkel in the middle of these multicoloured fish; or to relax under the filaos trees watching the endless beach and the turquoise sea; or to try all those delicious specialities sold on the beach. And for those who like to walk bare foot on the sand, they can go to the next village Tamarin or to the other end of the beach to the little fishermen’s port, where you buy your fresh fish.
The NILAYA is only 5 minutes walk away from this fantastic beach.
During these last years, Flic en Flac changed from a poor fishermen’s community to a small sea side resort village of 2 000 inhabitants. It managed to keep its former charm, its slow tropical way of live, but you may find now everything you need, like small supermarkets, boutiques, delicious restaurants, money changers, a bank, a pharmacy, a petrol station…
Like most Mauritian villages, Flic en Flac has an excellent infrastructure like a foot ball and a volleyball field, a small library (you are welcome to bring some old children’s books), a dispensary, a Village Hall, a post, police and coast guards office, a Hindu temple and a catholic church.
